Our smiley guy!
Jack loves to "double-fist" it with his milk and water.
A wonderful visit with Aunt Kathy! Jack and I took a tour of Kathy and Eric's new and awesome home, before heading to the mall for some play time (Florence Mall has the coolest, rainforest-esque play area) and dinner. Before leaving, I changed Jack into his jammies, because it was close to bedtime and we had a little hike home.
Jack is wearing Jeff's MI shirt. I plan to take a similar photo every year, until Jack is 18... to, kind of, see Jack grow into it!
Lately, Jack has been the sweetest and most joyful little guy! He gives the greatest and most enthusiastic hugs ever and he laughs and smiles so much these days. He gets excited about everything, especially the simple things, and if you ask him if he wants to do something, he always responds with a smile and a "sssssss," which means "yes." He loves bath time and whenever we ask him if he wants a bath, he practically jumps out of his skin, in anticipation. He, then, runs to the bathroom and starts tapping his foot, because he just.can't.wait!!! Unfortunately, he pooped in the tub tonight. It was nice... he's only done this once before and it was also when I had given him a bath. Jeff bathes Jack, probably, fives times the amount that I do, but I'm the lucky one! After his bath tonight, I attempted to clean up the mess, with Jack following right behind me. The whole time, Jack followed me everywhere I went, and just stood beside me. He loves to be where I am and I think it's really adorable! He gives the most random hugs throughout the day and, when he does, he leaps into my arms with such gusto. I am really really really loving this stage. Of course, he has the typical toddler temper tantrums. Sometimes, they make me laugh, and other times, they make me nervous. Thankfully, right now, he can usually be redirected fairly quickly and then, life is good again!
Last night, Jack spent the night at my parent's house. It was the first time that we had spent a night away from him where we stayed at our house. For three days, in November, we traveled to LA for Jason Shomer's wedding. Last night, Jeff and I were in need of a date night. My parents offered to watch Jack so that we could go out. The more we thought about it, we thought that it might be nice to just come home after our date, not worry about waking Jack, and sleep in for a bit, come sunrise. We had this evening planned for weeks and my parents were looking so forward to spending some extra time with Jack. He knows them very well and sees them quite often. According to my parent's, they had a great time with Jack and he seemed very happy. Jeff and I had the best time on our date. We just went out to dinner and then rented a movie. We could turn the t.v. up a little louder than usual and we didn't have to whisper when we returned home. Just a couple of things that we never do! We could sleep in and not have to be responsible for a baby first thing in the morning. It was a nice treat and break from our reality! The time that Jeff and I spent together was really wonderful.
We loved reconnecting, going out, and being "just the two of us!"
I feel so blessed to have such a lovely family.
